Winterization 2014

Winter is fast approaching, so it's time to make sure your vehicle is up to par for the cold December weather ahead if you haven't already. Since automotive repair and maintenance services are our specialty, we thought it'd be a good idea to go over common car winterization services and explain their importance. By taking a few simple precautions now, you can save yourself the headache of being stranded at home with a car that won't start or in a blizzard with a dead battery.

Winterization 2014

  • Fluids: The different fluids in your car go a long way in protecting its systems and parts. Oil, for example, contributes a lot when it comes to your engine's life. Without fluids, parts grind together and wear or break as a result. Make sure all your fluids are topped off before winter strikes to help prevent premature component failure. If you haven't done so yet, we offer a quick lube, oil, and filter change service.
  • Tires: Don't drive on tires incapable of handling ice. It may seem like common sense, but new tire prices, no matter how low, still make some drivers grip their wallet closer in place of finding tires able to grip the road in snow. However, snow tires are important to your safety and the safety of others. Don't compromise either. Get your snow tires on before the first snow storm, and drive safe. We offer a tire installation service, so we'll be able to change them for you this winter.
  • Batteries: You know what likes to stop working in winter? Car batteries. These electrical components really don't like the cold that much. If you don't remember the last time you replaced your car battery, or feel like it's worn, have us check it out. You might be good. You might need a replacement. But either way, you'll know where you stand. In the case you do need a replacement car battery, we've got a great selection of replacement batteries in stock.

These are some of the most common winterization services performed each year. We've helped a lot of drivers prepare so far, and we hope to help a lot more before we get into the thick of winter. If you have any questions about our automotive services or winterizing your vehicle, reach out to us. Until then, stay warm and drive safe.
